One Way Conversations

Nothing like having a one way conversation... Ya'll there is a "comment" button at the bottom of these posts. I can tell that there have been 174 views, but not a one of you (well exactly one of you) has posted a comment to say "Coach, the 'my dad is a nimrod' exercise is lame."

NEW GOALS:
Juggling:  25. If you can do 25, do 25 on your feet only.
Run Time:  Shave off 10 seconds (7:30)
Push ups:  3x9 (only 27 GOOD ones) Remember, Regular, Diamond, Wide.

LegLifts:  2 Minutes (Brush your teeth!)
Quads: Either Wall-Sit or that yet to be named squatting one.

I've heard rumor of you guys down at the Redmond high track trying to get your mile time under seven minutes. That is great. I know that when I was in elementary school, my half mile time was three minutes. SO YOU CAN DO IT!

And do make sure you are under control when you juggle that ball. If you aren't at the goal for 25, go back to trying to juggle with just your thigh.

Another thing is to tell the ball where to go. Don't just try to keep it in the air. Tell it you want small, medium or large bounces off your foot. Tell it to go from your left to your right foot. This may seem harder, but in reality, it trains you to be in control and not reactionary.

When I first started, I couldn't juggle more than a couple with my feet. But the thigh provides a good flat surface to get a lot of repetitions. Use your hands until you can establish control. It is more important to get used to the ball than to chase the ball around the garage. So when you lose control, just start over.

At this point, once you get to 25, introduce new challenges. I started doing "around the world," which is right foot, thigh, shoulder, head, left shoulder, thigh, foot, repeat. Another fun one is just headers.

Think about trying to meet the ball. Notice that when a ball hits the ground, it bounces straight up. You only need to add a little power to get the ball back to a good juggling height.

OK - CONVERSATION HERE... who can be the first to post their personal record? Or who has a good mile time they can share.

Cheers,
rt
